Notes
Automatic Startup
-
Starting the VM from the VM manager will cause several startup steps
to execute automatically, ending with the PHR login page being
presented in a Firefox browser window. Those steps are, specifically:
- logging you into the VM as user phr;
- opening up access to the internet;
- starting up the apache webserver as well as the node process;
- starting up firefox; and
- bringing up the PHR system, which will start you out at the login page.
Startup Problems?
If you are using the Oracle VirtualBox VM manager on a Windows system, you may get a problem when you first try to start the imported VM. The error will be about VT-x being disabled in the BIOS.
To work around that you can turn off the use of hardware virtualization on VBoxManage.exe, which should be in the same folder as the VirtualBox program. For example, on Windows 7, running the following command will solve the issue:
where you would replace VmPHR with whatever name you chose for your imported VM.

System Documentation
- Please see the online User's Guide for detailed descriptions of the PHR system and how to use its many features. You may also download a Microsoft Word or PDF version of the User's Guide.
- The technical documentation on the PHR's GitHub website provides a detailed description of the code and third-party packages used by the system. We recommend you look there if you are interested in understanding what's is included in the system. The VM PHR includes the third-party packages described in that documentation.
